💼 What were you doing before Web3?
Before Web3, I was a full-time Magic The Gathering player on Twitch. I was on an E-sports team, sponsors, and the whole 9 yards. Did that for years before jumping into crypto full-time. Also hosting ATBdaily and helping run The JPG Junkies.
🤔 How did you get into Web3?
I got into Web3 by cold messaging the CEO of Hit Network once I learned they were exploring the launch of an NFT project with a Trading Card Game base.
I reached out to help with the game given my MTG background and started shortly thereafter.
🚀 What was your first crypto or NFT project?
🧠 How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?
I would explain my job to an outsider as a Finance News host that is building an online marketplace like eBay.
We in the industry tend to overcomplicate our positions to people who know almost none of the nomenclature
💡 Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?
🥳 What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?
My biggest highlight of my career so far would be the time an episode of Around The Blockchain I hosted hit a quarter million views! May not seem like much but to me, it’s a huge number.
📈 What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?
The trend to watch this year will be the upcoming Layer 2 wars. There are too many and a few winners will emerge.
🤝 What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?
My advice would be to identify what your skill sets are and try to replicate them on Web3. Because the space is so new, there is a ton of opportunities to help bridge these 2 worlds of traditional business/media into this new realm of content. Don’t reinvent the wheel, know what you do best and do it for Web3.
🎤 If you could do a TED talk on any topic, what would it be?
My Ted Talk would be about Metcalfe’s Law in relation to NFT projects ( the value of a network is equal to the square of the number of connected users of the system). How powerful is the Network within the ecosystem of a project?
🚨 What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?
If I’m stuck on a deserted island, give me a chicken. I love eggs! I’ll try to not start talking to it, no promises though!
POW stands for “Proof of Work.” It is a new feature article series in The Mega Maxi to highlight the savviest builders in the Web3 space.
