Yuga Labs Names New CEO for 2023

Daniel Alegre, COO of Activision Blizzard, was appointed to be the new CEO of Yuga Labs, the company behind BAYC, for the first half of 2023.

Moreover, Alegre has been President and Chief Operating Officer of Activision Blizzard since early 2020.

He is in charge of delivering and selling games like Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, and Candy CrushTM around the world.

Besides that, Alegre also worked for Google for more than 16 years, where he was President of Global and Strategic Partnerships, President of Shopping and Payments, and President of Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Why did Yuga Labs change its CEO?

Yuga Labs made it clear that they have ambitious metaverse plans earlier this year when they released the Otherside, a gamified, MMORPG-inspired metaverse that the team is developing.

Therefore, with Alegre’s years of experience building global, successful communities and games, the company wants to speed up the process of making that ambition come true.

What will happen to the previous Yuga Labs CEO?
