Weekly Blue Chip Power Rankings (August 17-23)

Cryptocurrencies have been on a downtrend this week. With price levels plunging even lower, the market has been struggling to maintain a bear run. The similar case is happening to blue chip NFT projects.

1. Bored Ape Yacht Club

Last week’s ranking: No. 1

There’s no stopping BAYC, even after all the events that happened this week. The collection has not seen a good trend in price level, but the community remains strong during this bearish momentum. Fears of liquidation have also mounted BAYC, after it emerged that some BAYC holders borrowed against their NFTs on BenDAO.

2. Mutant Ape Yacht Club

Last week’s ranking: No. 3

MAYC finally made their return to the second spot, where they have been consistently sitting in the previous months. The mutant serum-injected apes earned almost twice the volume of sales transactions of CryptoPunks. The crypto downtrend suggested MAYC acquisition to several NFT collectors.

3. CryptoPunks

Last week’s ranking: No. 2

CryptoPunks take a step down in our rankings, even after temporarily flipping BAYC’s floor price on August 21. Recently, the Punks released the IP rights agreement for the collection that will enable the community to build more using the terms as guidance. All eyes are on the the floor price of CryptoPunks, as it is going head-to-head against BAYC’s floor price.

4. Meebits

Last week’s ranking: No. 6

The 3D voxel collection Meebits is one of the biggest winner in our rankings. After not making it to the top 5 last week, the Meebs climbed up and gained the most sales transaction this week. This month, Meebits released the IP licenses agreement for the collection. These terms will guide the community’s creations, both in the metaverse and real life.

5. Doodles

Last week’s ranking: No. 7

The Burnt Toast collection Doodles overtook Moonbirds and Clone X, and finally made a comeback in the top 5. The collection continues to build excitement for the release of the anticipated Doodles 2. The Doods has been keeping a strong floor around 7 ETH for the past week.
