Walmart Dives Into The Metaverse With Roblox Experiences
Walmart, a retail giant, has joined the metaverse with the launch of Walmart Land and Walmart’s Universe of Play in the metaverse mega-platform, Roblox.
”We’re showing up in a big way – creating community, content, entertainment, and games through the launch of Walmart Land and Walmart’s Universe of Play,” said William White, chief marketing officer of Walmart
The spaces provide customers with unique interactive information and entertainment, bringing to life the finest of Walmart’s ‘isles’ in a virtual environment.
Walmart Land will deliver the greatest in fashion, style, beauty, and entertainment to the worldwide Roblox community of over 52 million daily players.
Introducing Walmart Land and Walmart’s Universe of Play on Roblox
Walmart Land and Universe of Play are virtual lobbies. A Ferris wheel, an “interactive piano walkway,” and a DJ booth are among the minigames and activities available within. With the goal of funneling players to certain brands
Walmart Land will debut with three big experiences:
Electric Island
House of Style
Electric Fest
While, Walmart’s Universe of Play will include:
Immersive games
Sought-after rewards
Virtual adventures
All of the said experiences are specifically targeted toward the next generation. The Roblox community can explore different toy worlds to earn coins for cool virtual goods, or complete epic challenges to build a personal trophy case, unlock secret codes, and more.
“We’re focusing on creating new and innovative experiences that excite [customers], something we’re already doing in the communities where they live, and now, the virtual worlds where they play,” shared William White.
Users can click in on the excitement today and freely access the Walmart Land experience on Roblox.com and Walmart’s Universe of Play on any device including PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Amazon devices, Xbox consoles, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
Walmart isn’t the only brand that has its own world in the metaverse platform ROBLOX. Brands like Coke, Gucci, and Wendys have also made their move towards joining the metaverse world.
