Spotify tests out NFT-enabled playlists from Four Web3 Projects

Several companies have recently shown interest in adding scales to NFTs because they have a large audience and can make a lot of money.

These include corporations such as Twitter, Amazon, etc. However, NFTs aren’t just for visual representations, as is commonly assumed.

So, Spotify wants to spread the word about this claim as they utilize NFTs in the music industry.

THE ALPHA

The music-streaming platform, Spotify, is collaborating with NFT projects to test their new token-enabled playlist service.

This feature allows NFT holders to connect their wallets and listen to exclusive tracks from their favorite artists.

However, the option is only available to holders of tokens from partnered projects, namely Fluf, Moonbirds, KINGSHIP, and Overlord.

Additionally, these playlists will be updated during the three-month testing period and will provide access to members through an exclusive link.

Looks like Spotify is doing things.

Music NFTs.

Podcast NFTs.

Token gated access.

Every web2 company is working on a crypto strategy right now.

MORE DETAILS FROM WEB3 PARTNERS

Overlord, a Web3-based gaming and entertainment platform, announced via a tweet that holders of the Creepz NFT project could access its curated playlist.

Moreover, Creepz holders need only to connect their Web3 wallets to Spotify, and they can listen to its songs after.

Besides Overlord, Universal Music’s NFT band – KINGSHIP – also shared information about their created token-gated playlist exclusively for KINGSHIP Key Card (NFT) holders.

With its release, the playlist comprises notable features, including Queen, Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg, and Led Zeppelin.

We, KINGSHIP strive to ALWAYS be at the forefront of technology and music.

Now, we're taking this commitment a step further by launching a brand new token-enabled playlist with @Spotify!

Their build-outs may sound exciting, but the pilot is only currently available for Android users in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Australia, and New Zealand.

There are no further updates about Fluf and Moonbirds yet, but one thing’s for sure is that their holders will have unlimited access to their exclusive playlists.

HOW TO ACCESS THE NFT PLAYLIST

Access to their exclusive playlist is as simple as a few clicks. Here’s a guide for your reference.

According to a screenshot given by a Lead developer for NFTX, you can just:

  • Access the playlist through an exclusive link

  • Tap on the play button

  • Select your preferred wallet

  • Connect the wallet

That’s it! You can then listen and vibe with your fellow community members on the Spotify platform.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT

As usual, the feature is only possible to premium users as specified by the core team of Spotify.

Furthermore, the music-streaming company also shared their sentiments and didn’t give additional details about launching the feature soon.

“At Spotify, we routinely conduct a number of tests in an effort to improve our user experience. Some of those end up paving the path for our broader user experience and others serve only as important learnings. We have no further news to share on future plans at this time,” a Spotify spokesperson said.

CONCLUSION

After Spotify tested NFT galleries on artist pages last spring, the company is looking to join into Web3 ultimately through these playlists.

They might not be done applying their Web3-inspired innovations in the platform, but degens are bullish about their upcoming plans.
