What were you doing before Web3?

A Licensed Civil Engineer by profession who turned into a Wealth & Estate Planner, Stock & Cryptocurrency Trader.

In Web2, I help individuals with their finances and estate planning, and in Web3, I trade cryptocurrency and NFT. I’ve also worked on some NFT projects as a Discord moderator, marketer, and project advisor.

Even though I am not currently involved in any projects, I continue to support other Filipino artists and projects. I also have a couple of plans for this year, so stay tuned

.

How did you get into Web3?

In February 2022, I heard about an infamous issue involving a Filipino NFT Project. It’s funny, but it piques my curiosity about finding out more about NFT (I was already trading cryptocurrency at the time) and other Filipino NFT projects.

Initially, I planned to simply explore Discord servers and sing in various channels for fun, but I soon became involved with various NFT Projects and connected with other Web3 enthusiasts.

And, yeah, I’m the guy who always says, “I’ve only been in the Web3 space for three weeks,” because for me, there’s always something new to learn in Web3.

What was your first crypto or NFT project?

Batang Ethereum or Batang ETH, an Azuki-inspired PFP NFT Project. It just so happened that I was endorsed as a Discord moderator after a couple of months.

How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?

I support talented individuals, promote NFT projects, and help communities grow. I’m still trading, but this time with digital assets.

Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?

Of course, my mentors in the finance industry, Ricky So, Jong Merida, and Leo Cabrera. I also enjoy learning from content creators such as Marvin Germo, JQ Crypto, MoneyZG, and Whiteboard Crypto.

What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?

In Web3, being able to connect with different people and communities, and maintain a smile despite liquidations. Haha. *Laughs in pain*

What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?

Bitcoin and Ethereum price action, developments in DeFi, Blockchain, and, without a doubt, AI.

What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?

Never be afraid to try new things. We can’t deny that technology has become an integral part of our daily lives. It keeps moving. It is overflowing with unique and amazing ideas; all we have to do is learn.

Finding communities that share our interests is one of the best ways to widen our knowledge of space. Fortunately, there are many Filipino communities eager to empower and support individuals.

And, if you want to start trading, only invest what you can afford to lose.

If you could do a TEDtalk on any topic, what would it be?

It could be “What is the best way to manage our time?” which discusses some points from the Eisenhower Matrix or the History of Cryptocurrency.

What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?

Guitar. It will be boring if there is no music.

POW stands for “Proof of Work.” It is a new feature article series in The Mega Maxi to highlight the savviest builders in the Web3 space.
