POW with StepFam

StepFam.eth is a senior moderator for Guild of Guardians and a burgeoning content creator, with a strong emphasis on web3-based content.

What were you doing before Web3?

Before Web3, I did 2 terms of agricultural and lanscape design major at my local college in preparation to be my own gardener and landscaper as a personal hobby. This later help served as a grounding tool as I started my journey in Web3.

How did you get into Web3?

I used to follow stock investment-based content to learn how to day trade. After that, I somehow bought some doge.

Moreover, I watch the whole bull run that Doge did in 2021. I watch my portfolio melt my face because I never sold my holdings. I cried on the way down, and then went down the rabbit hole from there.

Found Gala, Illuvium, and ultimately GoG in March 2021 where I made it my mission to see it through while I learn more about this innovation of Web3.

What was your first crypto or NFT project?

Mt first crypto was Doge from Robinhood but the first NFT I ever minted was a Guild Token from GoG Founder Sale Wave 1.

Then after finally understanding what NFT is and seeing where we are going as consumers, It was a no brained that I’m supposed to be here this early.

I’m diverse throughout all the chains and different genres. My largest holdings are Metaverse land and gaming NFTs.

How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?

I find early startup games and communities. Then, I keep them on my radar with next-level products on the blockchain.

Also, that I’m starting to share my enlightening views and energy with those open to receive it. All while dropping hidden gems on how to move and be safe as a beginner content creator.

2 years in, and you see a lot of startups that has potential to blow and be next level products. This is almost like an entrepreneur’s dream and playground because once you figure out the game, there will be opportunities everywhere you look.

Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?

I won’t say names per say. More like a group of influences and aspect to navigate between.

Finding people like-minded as well as different aspects and perspectives can add value to my overall journey.

You can always learn in the shadows. I have a “I live vicariously through you” mentality so that I remain to focus on my own goals. However, I use their action as key take skills that I can apply to my craft.

But reflecting on self is probably my favorite leader I enjoy learning from.

What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?

Actually using my Twitter DMs. I’m getting approached by various project now. It’s something that I’m getting used.

Because I didn’t know 3 years ago, I would have opportunity with start ups come to me. I’m always grateful to have seen the bigger picture here. And what I can do to get the lifestyle I want to have in this realm.

Being grounded and follow my rules of due diligence. And using discernment has allowed me to start creating a reputation or a foundation that StepFam can stand on to build.

What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?

Web3 Games and studios. Time will tell if founders and builders really want the glory that comes with this innovation in being the next generation of games for the new generation of gamers.

Guilds or Projects based around Web3 gamers and content creators where they are valued for the time and effort they put in to spread awareness across multiple platforms.

Ready Player DAO has opened a lot of doors and given me opportunities that I would have missed if I didn’t put myself out there. Co-creating is amazing in this space. Also Augmented Reality Art or 3D printed NFT Projects are on my radar. Bridging Web3 and reality is closer than people think.

What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?

Know your relationship with yourself. You attract what you desire but this space is about Witt’s and self-knowing to keep your mental health up and healthy.

This space is fun if you make it fun, but it can also be stressful if you are following and giving your energy to the noise and distraction in hopes of getting Web 3 Lambo Rich.

The ability to read and discern information is important, follow your intuition and strength.

If you could do a TEDtalk on any topic, what would it be?

Natural Intelligence and Web3. I see this Web3 as a quantum financial period where the world will be most likely tokenized and how this AI is more than just a “tool”.

Not to sound like a tin foil conspiracy theorist, but this space is really next-level devil playground so being able to see behind the scenes helps you navigate this Web3 Journey from getting caught up with emotions that serve to distract and drain your energy, lol.

Overall, this space is what you make it to be, either way, Ohm Duality.

What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?

Funny that I immediately thought of a stick to draw in the sand until someone come along or I meet death.

But as a Capricorn and Gardener/Landscaper I would have to say a set of Landscaping tools to self-teach myself Sand sculpting.

Can’t be bored on an island if you still know how to use your imagination.
