POW With Sirius

Sirius, or SiriusDotCoffee, is a multi passionate Web3 Advocate and founder of The Sirius Vibes (TSV). Besides that, she is also a Marketing and Operations Specialist, Community and Relationship Builder.

What were you doing before Web3?

Just like almost everybody else, I was a corporate slave. I was working as a System Documentation Analyst, a completely different career path from my marketing management degree.

I take interest in various things and somehow do great in them. Before I left my last non-Web 3.0 job, I was called by the Chief of Staff, who happened to have a PhD in Psychoanalysis, a multipotentialite.

How did you get into Web3?

Drum roll please…Axie Infinity! It was introduced to me by a friend, Mashiba, and we applied to be scholars. Eventually, I got exposed to different communities, discovered my skills in hosting and community building, and landed various jobs.

What was your first crypto or NFT project?

Kusho NFT. I was hired to be their General Operations Head.

How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?

I usually tell them it’s essentially the same as building connections just like in the traditional scene but in a more digital and collaborative way.

Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?

I don’t really follow any thought leaders but recently, I am enjoying content from Dan Koe. His contents are straightforward, creative, and inspirational.

Web3-wise, I am greatly influenced by Tiong. I met him way back in January 2022 and learned countless amazing stuff. “I don’t charge people when I teach them because in the first place, I learned those things for free” will always be one of the best things he shared with me.

What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?

Founding my very own community, The Sirius Vibes.

What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?

Blockchain and AI. It’s amazing how fast these two are growing.

What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?

Always learn the fundamentals. The Web3 space is fast-paced, so try not to overwhelm yourself by taking everything at once. Therefore, continuously learn about the industry, reskill or upskill, and surround yourself with people who share the same vision as yours.

If you could do a TEDtalk on any topic, what would it be?

Capitalism and its manifestation.

What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?

This question always confuses me because you’ll never know if you will get stuck on a deserted island. In the first place, why are you on a deserted Island? Also, you can’t choose what to bring because ………. you are stuck.

POW stands for “Proof of Work.” It is a new feature article series in The Mega Maxi to highlight the savviest builders in the Web3 space.
