POW with Pixelord

Pixelord is the Founder of GM Punks, a unique OG PFP NFT collection. He is well known for his passion for making futuristic art and music. Besides that, he is also working on various Web3 projects and had experience in producing and performing with his music.

 What were you doing before Web3?

I am a multimedia artist, electronic musician, and creative technologist. Currently, I’m working on various web3 projects and exploring the intersection of music, art, AI, and technology.

Before web3, I was mainly focusing on music production and performing live shows, releasing albums and EPs under the moniker Pixelord.

 How did you get into Web3?

I got into web3 after discovering the potential of blockchain technology and its applications in the creative world. After that, I was fascinated by the idea of decentralization, digital ownership, and new ways for artists to monetize their work.

I started researching and experimenting with different blockchain platforms and quickly got hooked. In 2021, what brought me to NFTs was animation collabs where I was making music for other visual artists.

We successfully sold many pieces, but then I realized I want to try it myself and connect my music to art. However, I actually switched to more art side of NFT, I released some NFT music and musical PFP collection (Meta Ravers) but no that much. Mainly, I’m focused on art and AI experiments now, but also implementing music in there.

 What was your first crypto or NFT project?

My first crypto projects was the creation of a series of limited edition NFTs that combined my music and visual art.

I launched them on platforms like Foundation and Rarible, and it was an amazing experience to see how people reacted to this new form of art ownership and interaction.

 How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?

I would explain that I create music and digital art that can be owned and traded as unique digital assets called NFTs.

These assets exist on a decentralized network, which allows artists and creators to have more control and ownership over their work, while also creating new opportunities for fans and collectors to interact with and support the art they love. Besides that, community is a very strong part of the NFT space.

 Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?

I enjoy learning from various creators and thought leaders in the space, but one person that stands out is Beeple.

His dedication to his craft, unique perspective, and success in the NFT world have been truly inspiring.

 What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?

The biggest highlight of my career so far was probably the sales of GM PUNKS for a substantial amount of ETH. It was a game-changer for me, validating the value of my work in the digital realm and opening up new possibilities for creative exploration.

I was impressed in 2021 with how people was hunting those NFTS from GM PUNKS. There are only 303 punks I made myself. Their price at that time went to 3-4 ETH for one, on secondary market. The initial price I was selling for 0.1 and it was sold out right away and very fast.

Now its back to 0.5 ETH range and sales are low but it’s fine. Historically, it’s important projects because its my first PFP collection.

Also, all GM PUNKS holders got many other free NFTs from me. I guess they sold many and now just holding GM PUNKS because they like it. We have small VIP chat with collectors and they are not selling. We’ll see what happens with this collection in years

 What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?

I’m closely watching the development of metaverse platforms and virtual reality experiences. I believe these technologies have the potential to transform the way we interact with art, music, and each other, creating immersive and engaging experiences like never before.

We have made a collab with my friends Artisant in result making GM punks outfits for the metaverse. They are compatible and wearable in most metaverses right now. Actually, those wearables were given to my collectors for free.

 What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?

My advice for someone starting out in Web3 would be to stay curious, learn as much as you can. And don’t be afraid to experiment.

Collaboration is also key, as it can help you grow and discover new opportunities in this rapidly evolving space. And don’t forget to also make value, help others, find what you can offer – give and get.

 If you could do a TED talk on any topic, what would it be?

If I could do a TED talk on any topic, it would be about the convergence of art, music, and technology in the web3 era. And how it is reshaping the creative landscape for artists, creators, and audiences alike.

 What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?

If I were stuck on a deserted island, the one thing I would bring would be my laptop with a solar charger. It would allow me to continue creating music and art. And also stay connected to the outside world in case I needed help or inspiration.
