POW With Pandapops
Meet Pandapops, a Voxedit Community Manager for @TheSandboxGame and a Voxel artist and straight up NFT enthusiast.
Other than that, she’s also a notable Twitch streamer.
What were you doing before Web3?
I’m Pandapops. Currently, I create content around blockchain games and crypto, as well as being the Voxedit Community manager for the sandbox game.
Before Web3, I was just living a normal life doing part time work and travelling.
How did you get into Web3?
I excidentally happened to get into crypto. Back in early 2019, I was looking for a small hobby wanted to do streaming, found a streaming site called dlive, where a lot of people were interested in crypto. Many were streaming Axie Infinity it looked cute and so I asked how could I play it, learnt about eth, and blockchain games that way.
What was your first crypto or NFT project?
Axie Infinity was the first NFT project I joined back in 2019. Not long after I started playing CSC, Chain monsters and joined the Sandbox Creator fund to create voxel NFTs. If you mean my first personal project, I’m currently building out my own game experience within the Sandbox.
How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?
I usually tell them I teach people how to use software to create voxel art and create games, organising events and getting community feedback. While also making gaming videos and tutorials.
Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?
I love learning from many different people in this space. Simone Berry from people of crypto, Cryptostache, and Sebastein Borget.
What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?
My biggest highlight in my carreer so far has got to be, being able to attend awesome crypto events such as NFT NYC and meet new and interesting people.
What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?
Honestly, I don’t keep as up to date on new crypto tech and crypto trends aren’t the reason why I’m in this space. I’m a gamer first and formost, so anything I invest in is purely for me to play games and have that kind of ownership over what I spend my money on. In that case, I mostly keep my eye on companies that are looking to bring out blockchain-based games and see if they are something I’d want to invest into or keep an eye on.
What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?
For someone starting in Web3 I’d suggest asses your own risk tolerance. Only spend what you can afford to loose and cash out at rates you are happy at.
If you could do a TEDtalk on any topic, what would it be?
I’d probably do a TED Talk on either general mental health or gambling addictions.
What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?
I’d bring another person along with me to a deserted island so I don’t have to end up going crazy alone on an island.
POW stands for “Proof of Work.” It is a new feature article series in The Mega Maxi to highlight the savviest builders in the Web3 space.
