What were you doing before Web3?

I work as a marketing head for a Web2 company which specializes in houseware distribution in the Philippines. I also usually spend my breaks and vacations playing basketball or hanging out with friends.

How did you get into Web3?

I recall my friends from an NGO sharing news about NBA TopShot and how collecting moments was somewhat similar to collecting NBA cards.

Because of this, my other friends were able to talk about Roham and his Bored Apes in one of our conversations. Thankfully, this got me to NFTs.

What was your first crypto or NFT project?

NBA TopShot and Bored Ape Yacht Club.

How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?

Web3 and NFTs are really cool, fun, and fulfilling. I enjoy getting to know new people who are fellow NFT enthusiasts, especially during the pandemic when we are all locked inside the house.

Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?

Zeneca and Shan – these two people have inspired a lot of web3 personalities, projects and collectors – including me. They provide deep insights which a lot of people can learn from.

What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?

I would say bouncing back from a scam where I lost my Bored Ape along with other NFTs (close to 70eth in value) back in 2021.  A lot of Web3 friends came together to help me out and sent in donations which was really heartwarming. That was when I realized this Web3 space is amazing.

What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?

I’m looking forward to silent blue chips that have slowly dwindled down coming back up again – in terms of floor and value.

What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?

Keep yourself safe and never, never ever FOMO with money you cannot afford to lose. Of course, enjoy the process and talk to fellow NFT collectors who are part of the community.

If you could do a TED talk on any topic, what would it be?

Web3 safety based on my own experience.

What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?

Along with my family? I’d bring my ledger.
