POW With JChains

Introducing JChains, a well-known Web3 Community Member, Spaces Host and Advisor in the space. He is also a co-founder of WenMedia Labs, a content lab for hosts and creators.

What were you doing before Web3?

Before diving into the exciting world of Web3, I spent several years working as a chef and then ventured into the transportation and logistics industry, providing charter bus services to collegiate and professional athletes.

How did you get into Web3?

My journey into Web3 began in early 2017 when I started exploring the crypto world. I participated in fan art contests, won a few video contests, and eventually landed a paid gig to run a YouTube channel for a community I was part of. From there, my interest in Web3 continued to grow, leading me to where I am today.

What was your first crypto or NFT project?

My first experience with crypto was Bitcoin, but I’m now more interested in Ethereum and Cardano because of their superior utility. My first significant NFT purchase was a Lazy Lion, a popular blue-chip NFT.

How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?

To put it simply, I am a content creator and educator in the Web3 space. But more than that, I am a member of the Web3 community, dedicated to promoting and advancing technology and its benefits.

Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?

I don’t have one particular thought leader or creator that I follow. Instead, I am inspired by the Web3 community as a whole, which fosters collaboration and innovation.

What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?

There have been many highlights in my career so far, but emceeing Web3 Conferences has been the most rewarding. Connecting with thousands of people and hearing their stories and experiences in the industry is truly inspiring.

What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?

I am closely watching the Metaverse and gaming industries this year, as I believe they are ripe for positive growth. I am also interested in Music NFTs and distributed computing as potential investment opportunities.

What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?

My advice for anyone starting out in Web3 is to learn as much as possible, collaborate with others, and attend industry events to network. Consistency, positivity, and hard work are key to success in this dynamic and challenging field.

If you could do a TEDtalk on any topic, what would it be?

If I could do a TED talk, I would discuss the two unique pillars that define Web3: access and community. These pillars intersect in a way that makes Web3 special and highly attractive to many people.

What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?

If I were stranded on a deserted island, I would bring the ingredients to make pepperoni pizza, my favorite comfort food.
