What were you doing before Web3?

I was and still am a Civil Engineer Project Manager

How did you get into Web3?

A buddy put me on NBA Top Shot. My first pack I pulled a Luka moment which I insta sold for $870 and got hooked. Found Solana by pure luck. Got a DM shill on discord for Skeleton Crew back in September of 2021.

What was your first crypto or NFT project?

Besides Top Shot, Cyber Frogs. Shoutout Andy for the derug and money printer. Then Solana Bananas then DeGods.

How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?

I trade shares of startups in the form of digital collectibles.

Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?

Obviously Frank because he’s no-nonsense and has a real-world approach to most things. There’s a serious lack of real-world experience in the Solana space.

Obviously, there’s a handful of adults running projects or accounts with good takes, but there are sooooo many kids running around with a complete lack of how IRL jobs/businesses work. If anything I learn more from my own experiences than people in web3.

What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?

It’s weird looking at Web3 as “my career” but hosting DeGodCast at it’s peak was fun AF. The quality of guests we had combined with the the relaxed environment of running a 3-5 person podcast versus a Twitter space was nice.

What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?

I’m balls deep in DeFi, the legit kind. The number of opportunities to make your money work for you in web3 is astounding.

I’d also like to see Web3 invade the real world more in the form of big brand collabs and simple, user-friendly activations. I’m waiting for the day my mom texts me asking for help setting up a crypto wallet for something she’s actually interested in.

What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?

First and foremost don’t invest any money you can’t afford to lose. Apart from that, find a positive support group.

Find a group of people you can bounce thoughts off of whether it’s whether to mint a project or what the market is doing. Don’t waste your time with people who spend all theirs being negative and trying to tear others down.

They’re not going to help you make it and if you do it on your own chances are they’ll just be jealous. Surround yourself with positive people who are smarter than you.

If you could do a TEDtalk on any topic, what would it be?

On not giving a fuck. So many people care wayyyyy to much about what others think or do. It’s a time, and energy suck.

Do your best, try your hardest, worry about yourself. If someone doesn’t like it, fuck ’em. Someone doesn’t like you? Fuck ’em, who cares. Of course, this is only applies if you have a generally good set of morals.

I’m not saying don’t give a fuck and go do whatever you want whenever you want if it has a negative effect on other people. That’s just called being a dickhead.

What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?

Assuming I can’t bring anything to easily “unstuck” myself, idk probably a gun? Make hunting easier?

If you can find a rock you can make a knife to do most other things. And if it comes down to it and it’s a I’m never getting off this island situation just end it I guess?
