POW With Fycee

Fycee is a Telos ambassador, a FORT advocate, and a Web3 NFT metaverse enthusiast.

 What were you doing before Web3?

My name is Aaron Aranez, also known as Fycee on blogging platforms, and I am proud of what I have achieved from being a simple Steemit writer.

I am currently chosen by the three founders of a launching blockchain foundation to lead the marketing department as a CMO. Yes, guys, it’s still hard for me to let it all sink in. I am now choosing my team members who will handle digital marketing, social media, community building and support, and finally the ambassador lead.

We will definitely share all the information during the launch. It will initially cater to payment solutions in Africa. The next targeted region is Asia and the Pacific.

I am still a Telos Foundation Ambassador and will continue to be one as long as I want. I formerly handled the leadership of this department for 13 months. Yes, this is such a rewarding career, aside from having a 6-digit package in Philippine pesos per month.

As an ambassador, I am the only one who can wear multiple hats at the same time. I cater to all the concerns of community members through all channels. I also reach out to projects as a Biz Dev Team member and route every incoming partnership proposal to the right Telos Foundation Team members.

For me, I always measure the level of passion they provide for Telos and all the ecosystems we have if they want to apply for this position. I always ensure to reward deserving community members for being a part of my team by being an ambassador.

 How did you get into Web3?

I started during the time I searched Google for “how to earn money online”. This was way back in 2010. I started using MyLot, a blogging platform that lets you earn from the number of likes and comments you gain.

After that, I started in the Web3 space when everything was still in Web 2.0! I can’t even believe that I started Web3 as a poser. Yes! One of my biggest regrets and something not to follow.

Probably, I just realized I was tired of pretending and wanted to let the whole world know who I really was. It was a wrong move, I know, but I am sharing it here so nobody should follow. Be proud of who you are. Your skills, personality, and contribution to the community will always lead you to success.

I started sharing my crypto experience with everyone on a daily basis at this time when I got into crypto in 2016. I started having my Coins.ph account when Bitcoin was still worth $500.

Then, I started blogging and creating content on Steemit in 2017. I did this when I was no longer able to access my first account way back in 2016. The time when Steemit just launched. Steemit is considered to be the Web3 version of Facebook. A social media platform where content-creators get paid according to the value they contribute to the community.

 What was your first crypto or NFT project?

My first crypto is Bitcoin and was able to enjoy cashing it out last March 2016. It was only worth $10 of BTC.

The first NFT I created was on AreaXNFT. An NFT Marketplace based on Marble Standard and powered by Telos Network.

 How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?

I would ask them some basic probing questions and then explain how Web 3 aligns with their interests and how it can be interesting for them. This is such a basic selling technique. I will also explain the benefits of Web3 and how it will change the future and make our lives easier.

 Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?

These are the two ladies that I look up to and will always have my support in whatever way I can.

Arshelene, the Binance Angel, and Myrtle Anne of BlockTides. Even though Arshelene and I are good friends, I still always learn a lot of things from her, and she definitely put a spark in my influencer career to also motivate my fellow crypto-enthusiasts to push what they have started.

I also liked how Luis Buenaventura II explained things about crypto and the blockchain. I also saw how Myrtle Anne has grown her business to its peak in a short period of time and helped a lot of Filipinos in terms of tech awareness and job opportunities.

 What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?

The highlights of my career are:

• being able to see the ones I have mentored also reach the pinnacle of success at this time

• being able to get exposed to a lot of other great projects here in the Philippines and meet all the leaders and founders of each project

• attended multiple Web3, blockchain, and crypto events in just one year.

• being chosen to hold the CMO position instead of applying for it.

 What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?

I am currently focused on the marketing strategies and plans I have created for the launch of the blockchain in two weeks. I also love to see the GameFi and DeFi projects thrive here in the Philippines, so I will always support my fellow leaders however I can.

 What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?

Just a few days ago, I started mentoring a new batch of newbies delving into the Web3 space. I have given them some points to always remember.

Aside from telling them to “do your own research (DYOR)”, I also warn them to be cautious at all times when clicking all the links they see or are sent to them. Perform due diligence.

I also advised them to focus on at least 3–5 projects at first because joining tons of promising ones can really make them burn out.Trust their instincts, and don’t be afraid to fail. Always be hungry for knowledge, too.

If you could do a TED talk on any topic, what would it be?

I would love to talk about decentralized social media that runs on a blockchain and getting rewarded with crypto if I am given a chance to share my insights.

 What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?

I need to have a pen and a notebook on a deserted island for me to continue to write about everything that crosses my mind, so when the time comes that I am able to go back to the real world, I will have all those articles published and monetize all those contents.

We must always remember that everything happens for a reason. We should take all moments and treat them as a challenge for us to become the best versions of ourselves.
