Fifirong is a recording artist for over 10 years, and has also been creating Music NFTs in the space since 2021.

 What were you doing before Web3?

Full-time independent Avant-Pop recording artist (singer-songwriter)/producer for 10 years in Web 2.

 How did you get into Web3?

Through trading crypto during the pandemic and slowly learning and merging into NFT communities in 2021; also having an Economics major BSc & Media Management MA background helps me to understand NFT/crypto as financial instruments.

 What was your first crypto or NFT project?

Bitcoin in 2017; My first NFT sales were 1/1 collaborations with a visual artist Maryanne Chisholm, and during the same time I have integrated my web2 album crowdfunding campaign with NFTs of various rarities in the bundles and onboarded a portion of my supporters. (My first large collection is with crypto.com and followed by Harmony with NiftySax)

 How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?

I write songs, sing and produce music, and sometimes do shows.

 Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?

 What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?

My Genesis Floor Drop for my new single ‘Other Side’ 777 edition sold out in just over 1 hour, and the model is designed by Nifty Music.

 What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?

Defi, AI, gaming x music (metaverse)

 What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?

Practice ‘Jomo’ (the joy of missing out), be patient and genuine in nurturing relationships with a mindset of ‘give’ rather than ‘take’, and you’d be fine in the long run.

 If you could do a TED talk on any topic, what would it be?

Artistry in the era of transitioning from web2 to web3 with fast-evolving AI technology

 What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?

But if you ask what one extra thing besides all living essentials, I’d say coffee!
