POW with CryptoKramo

CryptoKramo is a blockchain enthusiast and works full-time in the crypto, Web3, tech and everything in between.

What were you doing before Web3?

I am Kramo, a blockchain enthusiast. I was a project manager in a digital marketing agency. But no, I work full-time in the web3 space. You can follow me on Twitter: @cryptokramo

How did you get into Web3?

I actually got into web3 before the term was commonly used. Back in 2017, I was hanging out on the Bitcointalk.org forum and got caught up in the whole ICO craze.

Working on gigs as “bounty hunter”, doing stuff like translating whitepapers, helping with community moderation, and making graphics.

It was a wild time – companies were raising money left and right, and we were getting paid in tokens for our work.

What was your first crypto or NFT project?

My first crypto was Bitcoin, which I used the Coins.ph app for. Sometimes I’d find myself wondering how much those BTC transactions would be worth now if I’d just held onto them instead.

In 2018, without even realizing it, I got involved with NFTs when I bought a bunch of Gods Unchained cards.

At the time, I had no clue what NFTs were, but that’s what I consider my first NFT project. It turned out to be a pretty awesome purchase because in 2021, they airdropped $GODS tokens to cardholders.

But the NFT project where I was able to understand the whole concept though was NBA Topshot.

How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?

I stare at the computer all day. Kidding aside, depends on who is asking, I just tell them I invest in cryptocurrency.

And I am into NFTs, if they are interested in the topic, I gladly introduce to them the brief concept.

Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?

I came across various thought leaders already in the industry but here’s a couple of them which I can recommend to follow: @Loopify @SatoshiFlipper @DCLBlogger @ljin18 @gabusch

What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?

Positively impact others by sharing my knowledge and expertise in the web3 space.

What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?

Crypto trends come and go. In this industry, it is much better to be more flexible with your ventures.

But here’s some tech and trends that I think you need to keep updated to: AI, DeFi, RWA, L1/L2 blockchain networks, gaming, and memes.

Why memes? It is part of the crypto culture, whether you like it or not, and it will only just become bigger and bigger.

What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?

There’s no better way to learn crypto than doing crypto. Experience is the best teacher.

There are tons of resources in the internet nowadays. Don’t stop learning and money will just follow.

P.S. Bitskwela has awesome crypto modules to get started.

If you could do a TEDtalk on any topic, what would it be?

Probably something about how memes and cryptocurrency intertwined from each other.

What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?

A big knife.

POW stands for “Proof of Work.” It is a new feature article series in The Mega Maxi to highlight the savviest builders in the Web3 space.
