What were you doing before Web3?

I’m currently an operations manager at a concrete plant for Web2, and part time jpeg trader still for Web3.

I started Web3 because of the pandemic, when I literally felt like I couldn’t do anything with my time.

I wanted to try something new because that time I was trying to get into tech, and I ended up in crypto… I can’t believe I’m saying this but I might be buying for the art now

How did you get into Web3?

I started in Web3 similarly to a lot of OGs in the space – Axie Infinity and other P2E ponzis on the Binance smart chain.I still haven’t made my money back though.

After that,  as I explored more games and joined more communities, I found out about Ethereum and the rest is history.

What was your first crypto or NFT project?

Technically my first NFT is Axie Inifinity but other than that it was Uninterested Unicorns (which i can safely call a rug at this point). I actually minted a rank 1 and sold it for -100x. I could’ve sold it for LOL

How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?

I’m basically trading crypto’s version of Pokemon cards on the Internet/Amazon. But here we trade monkey jpegs with magic internet money.

Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?

I’ve always admired Alex Becker for keeping things real and for unapologetically being himself. As someone who has close to 0 knowledge about technical analysis, graphing, and purely doing things by instinct and gut, I can relate.

What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?

Does receiving a $20,000 stimmy check absolutely for free count? Because thank you $Blur!

What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?

Layer2s for scalability and gaming. At the end of the day, kids in Fortnite spend the most money on anything and nothing can convince me otherwise

What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?

Build on fundamentals. Then pick one, and be the best at it, and dominate that space. You only need to be the best at one thing to be successful. I recommend being good at software/coding, it’s gonna be the future, and Elon Musk has always been right.

If you could do a TEDtalk on any topic, what would it be?

Making your own luck. Things don’t just fall into your lap. You need to put yourself in the position to face opportunities to get lucky. This can mean trying and failing, thickening your skin to shoot your shot, or just being curious about everything around you.

What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?

A pen and paper to write my seedphrase on and put it in a bottle. To whoever finds it, enjoy finding all the projects that I’ve invested in that are now at zero

POW stands for “Proof of Work.” It is a new feature article series in The Mega Maxi to highlight the savviest builders in the Web3 space.
