POW with Chad Inducil
Chad Inducil is a serial entrepreneur and the Head of Blockchain at Direct Agent 5 Inc. In addition to spearheading the development of SurgePay, he has also founded successful businesses in payments, transportation, and engine rebuilding.
What were you doing before Web3?
Before Web3, I was an equities trader and serial entrepreneur with businesses in payments, transportation and engine rebuilding.
Today, I am on a mission together with all other degens, to raise awareness on the disruptive power of blockchain technology in changing lives for the better.
Starting with remittances, I, together with the Surge/DA5 family, are working on a very special project that will use blockchain to bring down the cost of remittances and reward our unsung heroes. And this is only achievable because of blockchain technology.
How did you get into Web3?
Honestly, I have always been a fan of disruption. I founded a company disrupting traditional forums during the era of social networks back in 2012.
I also founded a payments company digitizing payment processes during the era of fintech back in 2016. As such, Web3 has been in my sights and I most especially aped into bitcoin at the time Trump was running for presidency – as a trader we all know – uncertainty equals running to safe haven assets such as gold and well BTC as the underdog vying for this classification as well.
What was your first crypto or NFT project?
My first crypto was of course the KING of KINGS, the blue chip of the crypto space, all hail BTC.
How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?
I start by discussing something they can’t imagine living without, and that is the internet. It’s second nature to them, and if you literally live under a rock, you’d still know or have heard of this thing called the internet.
Well, cycles always repeat and my involvement in blockchain and web3 will have the same impact as how the internet changed lives.
Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?
I learn the most from the crazy ones, and in fact it’s the crazy ones that actually dare to make dreams into reality, at the expense of everyone labeling them as crazy.
That being said, there is no one as crazy as Elon Musk. This man is all about disruption – look back into all the companies he founded – all game changers now but at that time, long standing industry players called him crazy for even trying.
What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?
Nothing even compares to the feeling we at DA5 felt when the BSP granted our licenses. That’s our EMI, VASP (license to convert crypto to fiat) and EPFS. This signaled the start for us to scale, innovate and disrupt – without the fear of government sanctions – as we have all the necessary licenses to operate.
In the world of Web3 today, licenses are king because you can’t remove government from innovation, you need to marry, educate and then change.
What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?
Crypto to Fiat on and off ramps. This is the hurdle we are solving for anyone that wants to participate within Web3 at this point of adoption where unfortunately mass adoption still belongs to fiat channels.
Any movements and clarity on regulations is the smoke screen for the throttle to either rev up or down when it comes to Web3.
What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?
Welcome to the chaos and congratulations you are still early. Always DYOR and manage your risks.
If you could do a TEDtalk on any topic, what would it be?
Blockchain as the inflection point for bringing back community and that thing we used say, sharing is caring.
What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?
I’ll bring my phone, because it has surgepay and with surgepay I don’t need anything else. #subtlebutnotsosubtleshill
