POW with Bianca

Bianca Cruz-Azurin is the co-founder of ATT3ND, a Web3 Community Activation startup. They have hosted numerous IRL Web3 events.

In fact, you might have attended some of the side events of PH Web3 Festival they co-hosted last year. Besides that, she is also one of the lead volunteer for the Web3PH Summit.

What were you doing before Web3?

Before web3, I was involved in a few tech startups, community building and commercial real estate.

How did you get into Web3?

This is a really embarrassing story… I’ve been exposed to crypto as early as 2017 thanks to Blockchain Space but I never took the time to really understand and act on it!

I finally got into it when a friend told me about NBA Top Shot. Axie Infinity picked up shortly after. Since then, I’ve been hooked on NFTs!

What was your first crypto or NFT project?

My then fiancee (now husband ) gifted me my first and forever NFT: Women and Weapons!

I found the art really powerful, the artist had a great story. I’d go as far as say that I vibe with the WAW community more than other women led projects I’ve joined.

How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?

I bring people together to know more about the metaverse by curating in real life events

Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?

Has Gary Vee been said enough? Outside of Web3 I like consuming content from Naval Ravikant about life, Ryan Holiday about stoicism and Chris Walker about sales and marketing.

What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?

In my short Web3 career thus far, it would definitely be making Web3PH Summit happen. We were blessed to have been supported by a number of great partners, sponsors and eager volunteers.

What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?

I’m keen to see more and more of the NFT use cases beyond the PFP meta. Also, excited to see how Web3 gaming will evolve!

What advice would you give someone starting out in Web3?

Find a friend or community that you feel comfortable learning with. I think that’s something that really matters, so you don’t have to be so self conscious if you’re asking a stupid question.

Tip: we are all learning as we go, there are no stupid questions here!

If you could do a TEDtalk on any topic, what would it be?

I’m not so confident to talk about Web3 yet. It’d probably be about topics I’m passionate about. Either my take women in the workplace or something about financial literacy!

What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted Island?

Ohhh, probably a few good books I’ve been waiting to read. I’ll take the opportunity to unplug. I rarely have time away from my screens these days!
