Weekly Blue Chip Power Rankings (October 12-18)
1. Bored Ape Yacht Club
Last week’s ranking: No. 1
The streak continues. BAYC is still on top of our power rankings. Despite facing SEC Probe over unregistered offerings, Bored-Ape creator Yuga Labs continue to build and fulfill its plans.
Recently, Yuga Labs is reportedly being investigated over the sale of Bored Ape NFTs and distribution of ApeCoin. Reports citing unnamed sources claim that the agency is examining whether a crypto startup issued NFTs that behaved like stocks and whether the Ethereum-based ApeCoin token distributed earlier this year violated federal law. Reports indicate that Yuga Labs has not yet been accused of any wrongdoing, and the investigation may not result in charges.
Recently, Yuga Labs shared that they have given $1 million to support arts and education programs in Miami, the birthplace of BAYC and most of the leadership team.
Miami is a special place. It’s the birthplace of @BoredApeYC and most of our leadership team. This is a vibrant community with a bright future – we’re thrilled to announce a new $1 million initiative to support arts and education programs there. More at: https://t.co/tUdhLMC1Na

2. Azuki
Last week’s ranking: No. 7
Azuki is on the rise. The web3 anime universe is introducing the Physical Backed Token (PBT), an open-source token standard tying a physical item to a digital token. It will be their first implementation of PBT using the BEAN Chip, a physical cryptographic chip that self-generates an asymmetric key pair. PBT enables the hardware to create a new experience we like to call “scan-to-own”. You can learn more about this update on the Azuki website: https://www.azuki.com/updates/pbt
As of October 18, the floor price stands around 11.72 ETH.
