National Geographic To Release “GM: Daybreak Around the World” Genesis NFT Collection
National Geographic, a magazine about travel, culture, and the environment, will release its first NFT collection, GM: Daybreak Around the World, on January 17 in Snowcrash.
In honor of National Geographic’s 135th anniversary, the collection will include photographs of the daybreak around the world and the metaverse, taken by 16 National Geographic photographers and digital artists.
Each of the 16 photographs will be made in an edition of 118, for a total of 1888 NFTs, which is the year the magazine was founded.
The Alpha
National Geographic NFTs will be minted on the Polygon blockchain through a blind mint.
A blind mint is when a person purchases an NFT without knowing which NFT they will receive from the collection.
Besides that, the mint will be public, meaning that there will be no whitelist for this collection. The sale will work on a first-come, first-served basis.
Total Supply: 1,888
Mint price: To be announced this week
Mint Date: January 17 ( Time TBA )
Purchase Limitations: There is no limit of NFTs you can buy per wallet/account

Things To Consider
This new NFT collection seems promising considering that it comes from a very notable magazine. However, don’t forget to still do your own research.
Besides that, this new collection seems to have a very extensive minting process since they are requiring everyone to undergo the KYC process before minting.
Therefore, that’s definitely something you should note.
Another thing that you should note is that there are currently no mentions of this NFT collection being available on major marketplaces like OpenSea.
he only thing that the Snowcrash website says is that it’ll be available on a secondary market within their platform.
The Future
Based on the Snowcrash FAQs, there might be a chance for more National Geographic NFT Collections in the future.
They said that they are committed to making exciting experiences for the Web3 community and empowering a new generation of artists to showcase compelling stories.
