How to Find Web3 Jobs on LinkedIn (Part 2)

In our previous article, we discussed how Web3 jobs will come to you by optimizing your LinkedIn profile.

Once your profile becomes easily searchable and clearly displays what value you can provide, visitors can quickly reach out to you for Web3 work.

In this guide, we’ll reverse the tables. Instead of recruiters and hiring managers finding you, we’ll teach you how to hunt and bring Web3 jobs to yourself.

Expand your search to find Web3 jobs

Have you ever heard of the term, Rage Applying?

It’s the new HR buzzword that evolved from Quiet Quitting.

Disgruntled workers are applying to job openings en masse, 4x to 5x a day. Apply to a large number, get rejected by an almost equal amount, and the difference would have turned into job offers.

Due to LinkedIn’s Easy Apply feature as well as job listings quick apply functionalities, this approach has become the go to strategy. But there are other, more efficient ways to find Web3 jobs on the platform.

Customized profiles give job leads

LinkedIn equips users with two unique profile photo frames: a green Open-to-Work and a purple “We’re Hiring” frame.

Look out for the latter when searching for Web3 jobs. To add confluence, check out their profile headline as some hiring managers will include a line – “We’re Hiring.”

Once you see these markers, search through the following areas to get your Web3 jobs leads:

  • Hiring Manager profile page – you may be able to find a company email in the About section where you can send in an application.

  • Company job listing page – as LinkedIn job listings follow a certain algorithm, openings may not be easily visible upon search. Take this opportunity to scour through company pages.

  • Corporate websites – While hiring managers may be on LinkedIn, not all job postings get listed there. Check company websites to see what offers are not caputred on LinkedIn.

Many LinkedIn posts talk about Web3 jobs

Creating content goes beyond attaining clout and increasing your following. While many want to go viral with their posts, some just want to hire great talent.

With the advent of the Great Resignation, finding good hires has become a very difficult task. Recruiters want you just as much as you want them. This has led them to pursue candidates across several platforms.

You can find Web3 jobs and openings by searching for posts and applying keywords “we’re hiring Web3” or other similar phrases.

Create Attention for Web3 Jobs

Attention is the new currency.

The phrase has dominated marketer’s brains for the past decade. In the age of social media where anyone can go viral and where attention spans have shortened, you must grab people’s attention.

In your search for Web3 career opportunities, you must equally be competing for the company or hiring manager’s attention. Since you’re going up against hundreds and thousands of other job searchers, you need to have a plan.

Here are ways to get attention and bring your profile to the top:

Direct Message (DM) is Key

No. DMs are not just for dating. They are also for finding work.

Instead of pinning your Web3 hopes and dreams on artificial intelligence and screening tools, get front and center with hiring managers.

Direct Messages allow you to build a relationship with hiring managers and easily land Web3 jobs

A strong message contains the following:

  • Personalization – take time to learn what the person’s name is and what they do. This immediately sets you apart from all the copy+paste keyboard applicants.

  • Value Proposition – similar to your own About section, create a condensed value proposition to hook in the recipient.

  • Short and Simple – while you want to display value, you also don’t want to sound too needy or boring. Keep your message on point.

Furthermore, direct messages allow you to be different. Recruiters get to know you and why you’re interested in the role. While everyone is blindly sending in resumes and lining up, you’re getting interviewed even before your application goes through.

Different gets attention and this is what you need to get a Web3 job.

Comments can bring you Web3 Jobs

At this point you must be thinking that I am joking.

How can commenting on someone’s LinkedIn feed bring Web3 career opportunities.

Remember when we mentioned how Attention is important?

The LinkedIn algorithm is designed in a way where whom you interact with the most, are also mostly to be shown on your personalized feed.

This means that if you’re interacting frequently with Web3 jobs Recruiter A who is also interacting a lot with you, then both of you see each other more often. You build familiarity and every now and then the recruiter checks your profile out.

LinkedIn Comment

Here’s what you can comment about:

  • Relatable Experiences – if the recruiter has shared about an experience or memory, you can write back about a similar happening. This allows you to build trust and relatability.

  • Continue the conversation – if the post author asked a question at the end of the post, have confidence and put down an answer.

  • Praise in public – if you don’t have any relevant thoughts to add but generally like the content, then leave a comment of appreciation. The author most likely put a ton of effort into the content so a pat on the back helps.
