Binance to Participate in ManilART 2022

  • Binance has confirmed its participation in ManilART 2022, with the theme “Forging Futures”.

  • The event will take place from October 19 to 23 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura, Taguig City.

ManilART, now in its 14th year, indicated that its focus will remain on the future for the foreseeable future. The exchange will include educational talks throughout the art fair to encourage and expand digital literacy among Filipinos. Their seminars will welcome and provide crypto insights to everyone, including newcomers and veterans, and will include discussions about crypto, blockchain, and the metaverse. The crypto exchange giant also stated that understanding more about non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will open up a new world of artistic production, trading, and support.

Binance’s Asia Pacific Region (APAC) Head Leon Foong and General Manager for the Philippines Kenneth Stern recently attended a Senate Committee on Banks, Financial Institutions, and Currencies hearing. They both promised to assist colleges in offering courses and professional certificates in blockchain, crypto, and web3.

In addition to Binance’s participation, the event will spotlight and include the debut of the “phygital” on the ManilART stage, which attempts to bridge the gap between digital and traditional places. NFTs in the form of extensions or digital prints of physical art pieces are referred to as phygital arts.

The impact of blockchain is felt not just in the Philippines, but also in other countries. Binance announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the City of Busan, South Korea, on August 26 to assist the city in developing infrastructure and providing technology to establish its own blockchain ecosystem.

In 2021, the art fair was the first to integrate new technologies alongside traditional media, with the show made available to online patrons via 360-degree digital walkthroughs, and augmented-reality copies of artworks. Participating exhibitors for this year include 371 Art Space, AC 388, Annual Sculpture Review, Art For Space, Artes Orientes, AT Art Gallery, Dry Brush, Espacio Manila, Galerie Artes, Galerie Du Soleil, Galerie Francesca, Galerie Raphael, Galleria Nicolas, G9 Online, Gallery Nine, Historia Arts, M Gallery MNL, Museo de Pacis, Philippine Art Nation, Pugad ni Art, Renaissance Gallery, The Artologist, Village Art Gallery, and Ysobel Art Gallery.
