POW With Abirdeer

Abirdeer is a digital artist and illustrator in the Philippines, and has experience working on a few NFT Art projects in Singapore.

  What were you doing before Web3?

Working as a freelance digital illustration artist first for a few years after graduation from college.

How did you get into Web3?

First was the trend for Axie Infinity, I got interested in Web3. Then my friend worked as a artist for a NFT project, and I’ve seen a lot of artists who suddenly started selling their artworks on Opensea, and Foundation. So I did my research and that’s how I got into Web3 as an NFT artist as well.

What was your first crypto or NFT project?

I’m not yet allowed to say what it is since it’s yet to be finished and published by their team, but it was a commission based project from SG.

How would you explain what you do to someone outside of Web3?

I’m not sure lol – I usually say I do mostly art commissions so there’s that aspect.

Which creator or thought leader do you enjoy learning from?

I don’t follow a lot of leaders, but if I were to pick one, probably Chun Lo – I like his art a lot and would love to learn more from his art.

What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?

Being able to work with well known Anime English Dub Voice Actors. Especially the voice actor of Guts and Madara. 

What tech or crypto trend are you watching this year?

Just the usual I suppose. Ronin, ETH, Solana. Hard to say since it’s a bear market as of the moment.

What advice would you give someone starting out in web3?

Always know what you’re getting yourself into, and be careful of scams and rug projects out there. Also always ask for the finer details when it comes to NFT commissions and make sure you are comfortable with the project.

If you could do a TEDtalk on any topic, what would it be?

Not sure haha. Art, probably since it is one of my most passionate skills.

What is the one thing you would bring if you were stuck on a deserted island?

Iphone 14/pro with Emergency SOS via satellite lol
