8 Generative NFT Avatar You Should Know In 2022

1. Bored Ape Yacht Club

The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) is one of the most popular NFT collections in the space today. Each Bored Ape is unique and programmatically generated from over 170 possible traits, including expression, headwear, clothing, and more. All apes are great, but some are rarer than others. The apes are stored as ERC-721 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain and hosted on IPFS.

2. CryptoPunks

CryptoPunks inspired the modern CryptoArt movement. It consists of ten thousand unique collectible characters with proof of ownership stored on the Ethereum blockchain. The CryptoPunks is one of the earliest examples of a “Non-Fungible Token” on Ethereum and were the inspiration for the ERC-721 standard that powers most digital art and collectibles.

3. Mutant Ape Yacht Club

Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) is a collection of up to 20,000 Mutant Apes that can only be created by exposing an existing Bored Ape to a vial of Mutant Serum or by minting a Mutant Ape in the public sale.

4. Cool Cats

Cool Cats is a collection of 9,999 randomly generated and stylistically curated NFTs on the Ethereum Blockchain. Cool Cat holders can participate in exclusive events such as NFT claims, raffles, community giveaways, and more. Remember, all cats are cool, but some are cooler than others.

Each cat is different, sporting different outfits, faces, and colors. The cats are cartoon drawings of blue felines, rendered in computerized marker pen and adorably cute. Some wear dungarees, others have two mouths, and some wear candles as hats. Unlike the CryptoPunks or the bored apes of Bored Ape Yacht Club, Cool Cats are comparatively benign and easy on the eye.

5. Doodles

Doodles is a Web3 brand created last year by Jordan “Poopie” Castro, Evan “Tulip” Keast, and Scott “Burnt Toast” Martin. They are primarily known in the Web3 world by their working aliases. The project is community-driven collectibles featuring art by Burnt Toast. Doodles come in a joyful range of colors, traits, and sizes, with a collection size of 10,000. Each Doodle allows its owner to vote for experiences and activations paid for by the Doodles Community Treasury.

The generative collection draws from 100 traits designed by Burnt Toast that were randomly combined to make 10,000 unique NFTs. Every Doodles NFT is a 1-of-1, with some rare attributes boosting the value of some NFTs in the collection over others.

6. CloneX

CloneX NFT avatars are made by RTFKT Studios, a digital fashion and sneaker brand, and have risen to become a blue-chip NFT since their launch. As more people look towards expressing themselves in Web3 and the metaverse, RTFKT (pronounced “artifact”) created a strong niche, designing wearables for the digital and real world.

7. Moonbirds

Moonbirds is a collection of 10,000 utility-enabled PFPs with a richly diverse and unique pool of rarity-powered traits. Moreover, each Moonbird unlocks private club membership and additional benefits the longer you hold them. Launched on April 16, 2022. Prominent American internet entrepreneur Kevin Rose created it as part of his recently established Proof Collective.

8. Azuki

Azuki starts with a collection of 10,000 avatars that give you membership access to The Garden: a corner of the internet where artists, builders, and web3 enthusiasts meet to create a decentralized future. Azuki holders receive access to exclusive drops, experiences, and more.

All Azuki NFTs have different traits regarding hair, background, clothes, and wearables — some Azukies hold swords, a cup of coffee, a skateboard, or a Boombox.
