Nostalgic, right? And have you ever heard the word Migraine in a song title?

That’s right! After a 10-year hiatus, the all-time OPM rock band invades the trend charts as they produce a new album featuring NFTs.

The Alpha

Moonstar88 makes a comeback in the industry with the release of their newest hit album in 10 years, “Lourdes 2088”.

This became official after the band dropped the album last January 27 across all selected musical streaming platforms.

In doing so, old and loyal fans gained rapid hype with it as they’ll get to listen and add new songs to their playlists.

Not just that, many new ones also gained interest since Moonstar88 made an unexpected yet interesting decision to incorporate NFTs into the album.

Just like other fans, Chito Miranda was also surprised following the release of Lourdes 2088 with NFTs.

ABOUT THE ALBUM

Following its release, the band described “Lourdes 2088” as an out-of-this-world musical experience that was rooted in the band’s aim of

“providing fans with the hybrid experience of music and today’s technology.”

Along with it, they gave a glimpse of a dystopian future (2088), where everything is solved beyond what science, as we know it today, can do, even heartaches, as the band said.

TEAM COLLABORATIONS

The album’s aesthetics and art became a success through the association of Nelz Yumul, one of the leading creators of weewilldoodle.

Additionally, Moonstar88 has also partnered with the Web3 agency GIGIL Metama in integrating the NFTs of the band’s album.

COMPOSITION

The album comprises 10 songs, each with a unique trading card that serves as an NFT.

For your reference, here’s the tracklist of Lourdes 2088.

  1. Nangawit
  2. Walang Katapusang Luha
  3. Next Week
  4. Feels So Right
  5. Parola
  6. Hangga’t
  7. Akong Bahala
  8. Forever With You
  9. Simple
  10. Sumaya Ka Ba Sa Akin

According to Moonstar88’s media, each token stored in every song also acts as a guiding instrument to help people recover from problems caused by heartbreaks.

PusoCal (BreakUp Scheduler), ReEMO (Emotional Baggage Recycle Bin and Editor), and Freezer (Cryogenic Emotional Stasis Headwear) are some of the fictional inventions that will be featured in the tokens.

LOURDES 2088 UTILITIES

To access the NFTs, fans must purchase the special edition of the album, the purple-colored vinyl (P2,100.00)

Aside from that, holders can also buy their limited future edition, which can be sold for P3,000.

These editions will then serve as passes for holders to have access of the band’s exclusive Web3 experiences, content, and much more perks.

CONCLUSION

With the band’s progress, will other OPM bands, such as Parokya ni Edgar, ride along the trend, given his surprising reaction?

Nonetheless, Moonstart88’s move shows Web3 evolving in the local scene.

As a result, many possible opportunities may arise from it as more influencers encourage people to venture in Web3.

So what do you think about this update?
